Fall TV Season - Three New Shows Not to Miss

Here are our three top pics for new shows not to miss this fall! While there are a slew of TV shows coming back to our TV screens, and there are many that look interesting (Vampire Diaries), this recommendation is three of our top five picks.

Bored To Death (Sept. 30, HBO) – What this comedy has going for it is the cast, which includes Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson and Zach Galifianakis. Schwartzman (Rushmore)plays down-on-his luck writer Jonathan Ames who makes a drastic career change and becomes a private detective, even though he has no experience.

Modern Family (Sept. 23, ABC/City TV)—The fall's most original new comedy, this mockumentary follows a Dutch documentary film crew as it records the day-to-day lives of an extended family for a reality-TV show in the Netherlands. Stars actors Ed O’Neill (Married… With Children)and Shelley Long (Cheers).

V (Nov. 3, ABC)—It combines three things we all love: space aliens, ’80s nostalgia and political allegory. In a “reimagining” of the popular ’80s miniseries, a group of outer-space folks called the Visitors visit Earth claiming that they come in peace to improve our lives, but they really have other sinister motives. Cast includes Elizabeth Mitchell ( Lost's Juliet) and  Scott Wolf (Party of Five).
